Our Fall & Winter 2023 issue is dedicated to pieces that we love to knit and wear for years, and years to come, and that then become true heirlooms. Passing them on to a beloved friend or family member or tucking them away for the next generation, or the right recipient to come along - these designs will truly stand the test of time.

New in: Our Issue 10 Yarn Kits!
Hello lovelies,
fall is getting closer and closer, which means that today I'm back with a short, but sweet overview of the new kits and yarns we'll have for Issue 10. These are exclusively available to our Magazine Subscribers and Collective Members from July 31 to August 6, and will launch for everyone else together with Issue 10 on September 5.
This time, we'll have kits for two favorite, yet very different sweater patterns:
Our Updated Sock Box (and, new, Skein!) Subscriptions

Exactly one year ago this fall, we launched our very first boxes – our beloved Sock Boxes! Filled with all-natural yarns and knitting goodies, they were our first foray into curating beautiful, sustainable products under one theme. To this day, this is one of my favorite things I do here at Making Stories. Keeping an eye out for makers who share our values and create gems that I think you might love, working with them on a joint theme and color palette, designing the little stickers and postcards that go with each box, and finally packing them all up and sending them into your loving hands. Like with all things though, you learn while you're doing, and so for our one-year-anniversary of the Sock Boxes, I knew I wanted to slightly update the concept. Based on feedback from you, I knew that you wanted an option without notions, and based on our experience with the process, I knew that I wanted to streamline the subscription a little. New in: Our Issue 9 Yarn Kits!
Hello lovelies,
today I'm back with a short, but sweet overview of the new kits and yarns we'll have for Issue 9. If you're a magazine subscriber or Collective member at the Full Skein or Sweater Quantity level, you'll already have access to these - from Feb 15 to 22 you can place your order so that we can ship it together with your subscription. After that, the kits and yarns will go offline until the official release date of Issue 9, March 15!
We'll have six kits for Issue 9 - with 3 new yarns! (And an old favorite returning.)
Calling all Hat Lovers! (And Gift Knitters!)
Hello lovelies,
one of my all-time favorite things to knit is ... hats. They knit up super quickly (at least in a heavier weight yarn), are really, really useful, and make for great gifts. Bonus points for patterns with interesting texture or cables - they are also extremely fun to knit!
As this month it's all about Gift Knitting here at Making Stories, I thought it would be fun to put together a post about those quick-to-knit and wonderful-to-gift hat patterns - and throw in a little goodie for you: All of these knit up beautifully in our new Hudson + West Co Forge.
