Here's to a wardrobe of knits we love and want to wear for years to come!
Unity is a wonderfully cozy open-front cardigan that invites you to snuggle up in it during the colder seasons. It’s knit from the top down, starting with the shawl collar, which is knit at the same time as the body - no picking up of stitches here later! Raglan increases gently shape the yoke before you separate the sleeves and the body. Sleeves are picked up after finishing the body and knit to a 3/4 length. Pockets are set in while you knit the body, so that you only pick them up at the end to work the pocket linings. The shawl collar, cuffs, hem and pockets all feature an easy-to-memorize zig-zag stitch which pops beautifully against the stockinette fabric of the body.

Designer: Crystal Hiatt
Hi, I’m Crystal and hail from Winona, Minnesota. A small river town along the Mississippi River. I began knitting in 2011 and instantly fell in love with making garments and accessories – knitting comes with me everywhere.
A few years ago I began to dabble in creating my own designs, beginning with accessories and then garments. Milly’s Knit Designs is named for my Grandma Milly, who unknowingly planted that seed for knitting and a love of all fibers. My patterns are designed with size inclusivity at the forefront. As a plus size designer, I too, want to wear what I design. And hope others of all sizes and body types will someday knit, love, and wear my designs.
Everyone deserves something beautiful to put on their body, regardless of size. Whether fat, thin or somewhere in between, size does not define us.
I am also a 2nd generation business owner overseeing my family’s manufacturing business. On the weekends and evenings you may find me knitting, out with friends, or on my motorcycle exploring new places.
