Dancing Sunlight Socks are charming, timeless socks, reminiscent of a typical Bavarian-style of knitwear. They are inspired by traditional knitting patterns used for Bavarian costumes. These garments are kept as precious heirlooms and handed from one generation to the next. Hopefully, everyone – whether knitting or receiving such a pair of socks - may regard them as an heirloom and one day turn them to a coming generation.
The socks are knitted from the cuff down. The Dancing Sunlight Pattern is a pattern of twisted stitches, 1/1 cables, and a small lace pattern which runs around the leg and over the instep. The heel is worked as a French Heel with a reinforced heel flap in slip-stitch pattern and a small edging in garter stitch, which ensures a perfect rounded fit. The socks are for adventurous beginners but they are also an enjoyable project for experienced knitters who like to add some ‘icing on the cake techniques’ to their knitting knowledge.
