Hi lovelies! To celebrate that Holst Garn Supersoft, an absolute rockstar when it comes to texture and colorwork, is back in the shop, we thought it would be fun to do a "Team Picks" pattern roundup!
Each one of us picked a pattern they'd love to knit with Holst Garn Supersoft and the colorways they'd make it in.
Ready? Here we go!
Isabell chose one of our star colorwork patterns of all time: Jennifer Brou's Lamina Sweater from Issue 5, also available as an individual PDF. Lamina is knit from the top down and features a stunning colorwork yoke that was inspired by the complex systems of veins found in leaves. Layers and layers of leaf blades give this extraordinary design so much depth while the slightly oversized fit makes Lamina extra comfy.
Isabell picked two color combinations: Tundra as the main color and Spring as the contrasting color for a color scheme that's close to the original sample. For a different, and super striking look, they suggest Venetian as the main color and Brandy as the contrast. Stunning, right?
Depending on the size you choose to knit, you need 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6) cakes of Holst Garn Supersoft in the main color and 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2) cakes in the contrasting color.
While Holst Garn Supersoft is great for colorwork, it's also a super versatile yarn that works well with stockinette and texture. Jen chose Anne Ginger's Abloom Cardigan from Issue 9 which would look absolutely marvelous knit up in this gentle, lightweight yarn!
Abloom is a great layering piece, perfect for the transitional seasons. It's knit from the bottom up with a moderately dropped armhole that creates a fabulous fit.
I love that Jen chose a very saturated color for her pattern - Mariner is a deep, dark blue that would look amazing with Abloom's stitch pattern.
Depending on the size you choose to knit, you need 6 (6, 7, 7, 7) [8, 8, 8, 9, 10] cakes of Holst Garn Supersoft for the Abloom Cardigan.
Jess went all out in terms of colorwork with her pattern choice! Elena Solier Jansà's Cingles Vest from Issue 8 is a fantastic layering piece with super-fun colorwork bands. It's inspired by traditional Fair Isle knits and in true fashion, you knit it bottom up and steek the neckline and armholes.
For a warm, fall-inspired Cingles Vest, Jess chose Flannel Grey as the main color and Graphite, Topaz, Clover Leaf, Brass and Almond as contrasting colors.
Depending on the size you want to knit, you need 2 (2, 3, 3, 3) [3, 3, 4, 4, 4] cakes of Holst Garn Supersoft of your main color, 1 cake each of CC1, CC3, and CC5, and 1( 1, 1, 1, 2) [2, 2, 2, 2, 2] cakes of CC2 and CC4.
I never thought I was a headband person, and then our photoshoot for Issue 10 came around and I put on Caroline Blay's Rose des Sables - game changer! This sweet headband combines a large-scale lace pattern with a bow without seeming too cutesy. I can't wait to make my own!
For my own version, I would love to combine Holst Garn Supersoft with De Rerum Natura's Bérénice. The original sample of Rose des Sables also combines a lightweight wool yarn with a fluffy one, and that little bit of halo is just everything! Holst Garn Supersoft's Cranberry would look absolutely amazing held with Bérénice's Confiture de Rose, I think. A fabulous pop of color for colder days!
You only need 1 cake of Holst Garn Supersoft and 1 skein of Bérénice to make Rose des Sables in any size.
I can't wait to get this on my needles! I am so happy we have Holst Garn Supersoft back in stock, and I am so curious what you're going to make with it.
Do you have a favorite pattern that you can't wait to cast on with this fabulous yarn? Tell me about it in the comments!

Hi lovelies! The sun is out here in Berlin, and what better day to talk about one of the most joyful issues we've ever done than a brilliant sunny winter day – meet Issue 13, Confetti & Rainbows!
In Issue 13 – our Spring 2025 Issue – we want to play! Confetti and rainbows, unusually and unconventionally interpreted in 12 new knitwear designs – a journey through color, shapes, texture and materials.
Confetti made out of dried flowers, collected over months from bouquets and the road side. Sparkly rainbows, light reflecting. Gentle textures and shapes, echoing the different forms confetti can take. An unexpected rainbow around the corner, on a brick wall, painted in broad strokes.

Hi lovelies! I am back today with a wonderful behind-the-scenes interview with Caroline Frett, a super talented illustrator from Berlin, who is the heart and and hands behind the new look we've been sporting for a little while.
Caro also has a shop for her delightfully cheeky and (sometimes brutally) honest T-Shirts, postcards, and mugs. (I am particularly fond of this T-Shirt and this postcard!)
I am so excited Caro agreed to an interview to share her thoughts and work process, and what she especially loves about our rebrand!
