Frau Woellfchen's Suffolk Combed Wool Tops are a wonderful combination of pure Suffolk and Suffolk Cross (i.e. a cross between Suffolk sheep and a different sheep breed) fibers.
It's designed for harder-wearing accessories and garments – perfect for socks, mittens or hats. The Suffolk fibers have a lot of crimp, and contain kemp. This means the fiber can be a little stubborn while you're spinning it, but the kemp makes for an extra strong yarn.
The Suffolk fibers are hand-dyed by Heike from Frau Woellfchen in her studio in the middle of Germany. As their undyed color is a heathered grey, the colorways she creates have a lot of depth.
This blend is fabulous for spinners with a bit of experienceand works well on wheels and spindles. Each braid contains approx. 150g of fiber.
