Frau Woellfchen's Suffolk Combed Wool Tops are a wonderful combination of pure Suffolk and Suffolk Cross (i.e. a cross between Suffolk sheep and a different sheep breed) fibers.
It's designed for harder-wearing accessories and garments – perfect for socks, mittens or hats. The Suffolk fibers have a lot of crimp, and contain kemp. This means the fiber can be a little stubborn while you're spinning it, but the kemp makes for an extra strong yarn.
The Suffolk fibers are hand-dyed by Heike from Frau Woellfchen in her studio in the middle of Germany. As their undyed color is a heathered grey, the colorways she creates have a lot of depth.
This blend is fabulous for spinners with a bit of experience and works well on wheels and spindles. Each braid contains approx. 150g of fiber.

When I first started spinning, the name of the indie dyer "Frau Woellfchen" came up time and again, and now I know exactly why: Heike not only sources the most beautiful breed-specific tops, but dyes them in absolutely magnificent colorways.
Heike is based in the middle of Germany where she renovated an old bakery over the last year which is now her dyeing studio. She very intentionally sources non-superwash, plastic-free fibers that she then carefully hand-dyes (no felting in any of these braids!) in fabulously layered colorways.
Her Suffolk Wool Tops are fabulous for socks, outerwear like mittens, gloves and hats, and rustic sweaters!
