Aaaand it's Day 10, the last day of this year's Winter Celebration! Thank you SO MUCH for joining us this year - I loved spending the past 10 days with you, and I hope you enjoyed your time with us here as well. I can't wait to start into a new year together (we have so many exciting things planned!), but for now, let's end this Celebration with something extra special: Today's gift is a brand-new pattern for you!

You know how much I love having a simple stockinette sock on the needles, even more so if it's in a fun, non-superwash yarn. Over time, I have come to realize a few things that I love in socks: a snug fit, a gusset that has juuust the right amount of fabric, and no holes where the heel meets the leg.

Meet: The Not-So-Vanilla Vanilla Socks! All of these things are taken care of in this new pattern - Fleegle's heel for a great fit, and an extra tip for getting rid of those annoying little holes at the ankle.

    Not-So-Vanilla Vanilla Sock

Download them by clicking on the link or the picture up above! I would love to see your own version of them - tag us on Instagram, and use the hashtag #notsovanillavanillasocks if you like!

Today also marks the last day of our Winter Celebration Box. I hope you enjoyed your gifts every day - if you got one, do let me know in the comments below what you loved most! And if you have any feedback on them, send us an email to hello@making-stories.com. I want to bring them back next year, so your thoughts are invaluable!

Your gift for today perfectly matches the pattern - it's a 100g skein of one of my favorite sock yarns, woollentwine's Corriedale Sock. Jule dyed up a special colorway for us called "Winter Blossom", which knits up so, so beautifully. The sample of the Not-So-Vanilla Vanilla Socks is knit up in it, so you can see for yourself! (It basically knit itself - I just wanted to get to the next fun speckle!)
If you want to get your hands on this yarn, we still have a few Winter Celebration Skeins that include the yarn and an extra gift in the shop.

Thank you so much for the beautiful pattern! And the sock yarn is beautiful, too I might have to be tempted.
Curious—I just finished the Pebbles and Pathways sock, and the pattern does not have a fleegle heel, just a basic gusset heel. I thought you might want to know.
    Cheers,
    Nicole

What a finale!! This is my favorite sock yarn and so excited to knit up. The Winter box was really lovely, thank you for putting together such special treats.
Can you let us know who did the art work on the card that came with the yarn? So pretty.
