  • Dear lovely knitter friend,

Welcome to October's Sustainable Sock Club Pattern Inspiration Page! I'm so glad you're here!

I love going to our Kiez (the Berlin word for neighborhood) farmers market in the fall. There's one booth in particular that has the most gorgeous variety of pumpkins – from gigantic orange Jack o'Lantern ones to light-grey Jarrahdales to (my personal favorite) spaghetti squash.

Every Saturday is a feast for the eyes (and then later in the week, the tummy), not only on that booth, but across the entire market – crisp, red apples, hand-picked grapes that remind me of rubies, fresh corn, and juicy pears.

Our Sustainable Sock Club for October is inspired by this abundance – the jewel-toned last hurrah of Mother Nature before winter, the gorgeous fall produce that hit markets in the last golden days of September and October.

Vera from Studio Solas has dyed a gorgeous sock set for us on her brand-new Organic Sock base. It's a slightly thicker sock yarn, perfect for cozy house socks or slippers and warm, sturdy socks for boots.
