Pattern Marketplace - Designer Resources

We have a simple fee structure: A selling fee of 3% of your net sales + any payment fees that occur (2.9% of gross sales + €0.30 (Paypal) / €0.25 (Stripe) per transaction).

For the start of the marketplace, we’re limiting it to only patterns that we’ve published in one of our publications before. We’re still a small team, and we want to make sure that we’re setting up everything smoothly and well, so we need to limit the amount of patterns we’re taking on. We’ll let you know once we’re ready to add more patterns!

Yes, of course! Simply submit them with the form or email them to us and let us know whether you’d like to list them separately or as one pattern.

Yes! You can set any price that you want. It’s just important to remember that the price that is shown in the webshop is always the same, no matter where the customer is based and whether they pay VAT or not. (This is different to an option that Ravelry has where the prices that are shown to the customer differ depending on their location.) When we calculate your marketplace revenue, we take out the VAT as this is passed on to the tax authorities. When you start out on the marketplace, you might want to factor in a slight buffer amount for VAT in your prices just in case - you can always adjust your price based on your customer mix later on.

You’re more than welcome to use your own branding / version of your pattern if you’d like to do so!

No! We’re taking care of all things VAT - you can sell your patterns through the marketplace to customers all over the world without having to worry about registering for VAT. The only way VAT is impacting you is when you set your prices as the price shown for your patterns on the website is always the same, no matter where someone is based and whether or not they pay VAT. Yes! They’ll be available here once we’ve launched.

No, we won’t. The earliest that patterns can be added to the marketplace is when the rights revert back to you which is four months after publication date.

Email us the new version of the pattern plus anything else that we need to know about it, e.g. does any of the information on the pattern page change. We’ll then update the pattern in the webshop and email the new version to any previous customers.
