  • Tweeddale - Sweater

The inspiration for this sweater came from Jennifer's collection of vintage, heirloom tea towels; each lovingly embellished with geometric huck embroidery: "I am interested in the tea towel's linear design elements and colour combinations but am also struck by the concept of lavishing so much detail on such mundane and utilitarian items. I incorporated these ideas of time, process, love and embellishment into the Tweeddale pullover."

Tweeddale is a drop shoulder pullover knit from the bottom up. The lower body is knit in the round to the underarm split, front and back are then separated and knit flat to the shoulders. Shoulders are angled using short rows and seamed using the 3-needle bind off technique. Sleeve stitches are picked up and knit in the round to the cuff.  The body and sleeves consist of a basic stranded colourwork repeat, with a panel of embroidery on the centre front running from hem to neckline.
