The Oak and Pine Socks Kit Light is the little sibling of the full kit! It contains

    • Printed and digital Oak and Pine pattern
    • 100g of Alb Lino in a colorway of your choice

The Oak and Pine pattern is a brand-new design by Ksenia from Life is Cozy who is our special Socktober guest for this year. She has developed a gorgeous pair of tree-inspired socks for one of my all-time favorite natural sock yarns: Alb Lino. The socks are a gorgeous interpretation of quintessential fall knitting! In Ksenia's words: "The pattern was inspired by the shapes of oak and pine trees so that you could pick some lovely yarn, start knitting, and watch your very own forest grow on the needles!“

If colorways run out, you'll see a "preorder" button. You can absolutely still order the kit, it will just take a few days longer to arrive as we first have to get the yarn from Schoppelwolle.

    kit content

Yes! All our kits include a little bit more yarn than the pattern calls for so that you can comfortably knit up your swatches.

Yes! All the yarn you'll receive will be from the same dyelot.

Yes and yes! You can purchase any extra skeins (say, if you want to
lengthen the body or sleeves of a sweater) at the same time as purchasing your
kit. Simply head over to the respective individual yarn listing and add the skeins you'd like to purchase extra to the cart. Shipping will be combined, and we'll always match the dyelots.

You'll need knitting needles of the size(s) that will get you the gauge
stated in the pattern. You'll also need the items listed under "Notions"
in the "Pattern Details" section. Everything else is included!

    Pattern support

We're here to help you with any questions that you might have on the pattern! You can always send us an email to hello@making-stories.com and we'll help you out.

We also have tons of articles on our blog that focus on helping you get the best results for you in your knitting. We also have our resource page where we have links to videos and tutorials for every technique used in our patterns.

    Caring for your finished object

All our yarns are non-superwash yarns, so any project made from them is best washed by
hand in lukewarm (not hot!) water, using a little bit of wool wash or
gentle soap. Take care not to wring the FO, but gently squish any
excess water out of it, wrap it in a towel, roll it up, and do a little
"dance on the towel" to press any remaining water out of the item.
Then, lay it flat to dry.
