Here's to a wardrobe of knits we love and want to wear for years to come!
Rachael from Cat & Sparrow is a fabulous dyer, both on yarn and on fiber, with a knack for colorful, variegated yarns. When I put together April's Sock Subscription under the inspiration "Abstract Art", I knew immediately that I wanted to work with her!
Her Eco-Warrior Sock is a delightful blend of 70% Bluefaced Leicester and 30% Tencel, resulting in a lightweight yet durable plastic-free non-superwash sock yarn that feels smooth as silk (withou any actual silk in it!)
"Petal Power", Rachael's exclusive April Sock Subscription colorway, is inspired by the art piece you can see in the pictures - it's a super fun combination of spring colorways that knits up really beautifully.
This was an exclusive to our April Sock Subscription - when these skeins are gone, they're gone!

I love a really good natural sock yarn, and I am always curious to try blends with new-to-me natural strengtheners! Tencel acts like one in this Cat & Sparrow Eco-Warrior Sock - the cellulose fiber feels almost like silk and lends the Bluefaced Leicester strength and lustre.
What's really cool about the Tencel is that it's produced in a closed-loop system, which means that all the materials used in the production of it are repeatedly recycled. This cuts down on waste and byproducts - yay!
It's no secret that I adore knitting - and wearing - socks. The "Not-So-Vanilla Vanilla Socks" are the perfect canvas for showing off Rachael's beautiful dyeing! The pattern is graded to 5 sizes and comes with measuring instructions and a little calculation exercise to ensure the perfect, snug fit on your own foot. They're knit toe-up with a Fleegle's Heel.
Susanne Müller's Sabai Top is the perfect flowy summer top. It's boat neckline is modern and wearable, and the soothing stockinette body will make the unique color composition of Petal Power shine!
The Mini Mock Neck Top is a fabulous addition to any summer wardrobe! Picture it with high-waisted shorts or thrown on over a bathing suit when you pick up an ice cream at the beach shop. Knit from the top down, the gentle shoulder and arm shaping ensure a great fit.
Socks, obviously! I would recommend a not-too-busy pattern - something like soothing stockinette, or a ribbed sock to keep the yarn the center of attention.
That being said, this yarn is also excellent for summer tops. It's super drapey, and the 30% Tencel make it light and airy!
