Dear maker friends!
We are so excited to announce that Issue 2 of our Making Stories Magazine is now available from our webshop! With Making Stories Magazine, we strive to feature companies and makers who focus on sustainability, transparency, fairness and equity in their work. We love telling their stories and hope to inspire and enable crafters to make conscious and informed decisions about the materials they use and the companies they support.
In Issue 2, you'll find cosy accessories and comfortable garments that are inspired by loving and caring for ourselves, our community and our planet. We're delighted to share the extraordinary stories and visual art pieces of our contributors with you, from discovering the love for your body to finding the common threads in your communities and having necessary conversations on inclusion and racism.
On that note, I wish to talk to you about a subject that is extremely close to our hearts. As I'm sure you already know, we originally had an article in Issue 2 by Nathan (Sockmatician) which we removed. If you are unaware of the circumstances surrounding this decision, you can read more about it here in our previous blog post. In that blog post, we also shared that we will be donating 6% of all the profits from Issue 2 to anti-racism organisations, and I would like to share those with you now.
UNITED for Intercultural Action is the European network against nationalism, racism, fascism and in support of migrants, refugees and minorities. Together with over 560 supporter organisations all around Europe, ranging from local grassroots associations to national and international NGOs, UNITED coordinates campaigns, organises conferences, takes part in projects, produces publications and undertakes advocacy work to protest against discrimination and promote our shared vision for a diverse and inclusive society. You can read more about this organisation here.
Founded in 1986 as the Refugee Aid Project by community activists in South Texas, RAICES has grown to be the largest immigration legal services provider in Texas.
Our Mission
We defend the rights of immigrants and refugees, empower individuals, families and communities, and advocate for liberty and justice.
Our Vision
We envision a compassionate society where all people have the right to migrate and human rights are guaranteed.
You can read more about RAICES here.
Above all else, we will continue working to create a safe space for our contributors and our community. As a small team of white women, we recognise that our actions and intentions are deeply rooted in our privilege. As we work to dismantle this, we are always open to hearing your thoughts. We certainly don't pretend that we will always get things right, but we do promise that any comment will be heard and greeted with an open mind. If you have any questions or wish to discuss anything with us, please reach out at hello@making-stories.com.
Warmest wishes,
Hanna Lisa & Claire

Hi lovelies! The sun is out here in Berlin, and what better day to talk about one of the most joyful issues we've ever done than a brilliant sunny winter day – meet Issue 13, Confetti & Rainbows!
In Issue 13 – our Spring 2025 Issue – we want to play! Confetti and rainbows, unusually and unconventionally interpreted in 12 new knitwear designs – a journey through color, shapes, texture and materials.
Confetti made out of dried flowers, collected over months from bouquets and the road side. Sparkly rainbows, light reflecting. Gentle textures and shapes, echoing the different forms confetti can take. An unexpected rainbow around the corner, on a brick wall, painted in broad strokes.

Hi lovelies! I am back today with a wonderful behind-the-scenes interview with Caroline Frett, a super talented illustrator from Berlin, who is the heart and and hands behind the new look we've been sporting for a little while.
Caro also has a shop for her delightfully cheeky and (sometimes brutally) honest T-Shirts, postcards, and mugs. (I am particularly fond of this T-Shirt and this postcard!)
I am so excited Caro agreed to an interview to share her thoughts and work process, and what she especially loves about our rebrand!
