so happy to have a natural sock yarn

At first I worried it would be scratchy on my feet, but the swatch blocked beautifully. I think they will be a sturdy sock.
Working bobbles on such a small needle isn't super easy, but worth it. Looks adorable so far.

About Sea Forest - The Pattern

Underwater, forests of algae grow and work just like forests on land, creating ecosystems around them made up of other plants, fish and microscopic creatures. The beauty of those kelp forests swaying with the ocean currents inspired Isabel Ale, the designer, to this pair of socks.

These socks are knitted toe-up. At first, only the top of the foot is knitted with lace, while the sole is worked in garter stitch, simulating the movement of the ocean currents. Once the heel is done, the lace covers the entire leg. The final length of the socks can be adjusted as desired.

About Garthenor Organic's Snowdonia Sock - The Yarn

High twist worsted-spun Romney and Hebridean make up the most beautiful and very deliberately designed natural sock yarn that comes in a range of gorgeous undyed and dyed shades. It's completely GOTS certified, sourced, spun and dyed in the UK and produced by the loveliest mother and son duo, Sally and Jonny!

kit content

Yes! All our kits include a little bit more yarn than the pattern calls for so that you can comfortably knit up your swatches.

Yes! All the yarn you'll receive will be from the same dyelot.

Yes and yes! You can purchase any extra skeins (say, if you want to
lengthen the body or sleeves of a sweater) at the same time as purchasing your
kit. Simply head over to the respective individual yarn listing and add the skeins you'd like to purchase extra to the cart. Shipping will be combined, and we'll always match the dyelots.

You'll need knitting needles of the size(s) that will get you the gauge
stated in the pattern. You'll also need the items listed under "Notions"
in the "Pattern Details" section. Everything else is included!

Pattern support

We're here to help you with any questions that you might have on the pattern! You can always send us an email to hello@making-stories.com and we'll help you out.

We also have tons of articles on our blog that focus on helping you get the best results for you in your knitting. We also have our resource page where we have links to videos and tutorials for every technique used in our patterns.

Caring for your finished object

All our yarns are non-superwash yarns, so any project made from them is best washed by
hand in lukewarm (not hot!) water, using a little bit of wool wash or
gentle soap. Take care not to wring the FO, but gently squish any
excess water out of it, wrap it in a towel, roll it up, and do a little
"dance on the towel" to press any remaining water out of the item.
Then, lay it flat to dry.
