What the Kit Includes

  • 1 skein of woollentwine's Rustic Merino Worsted - enough yarn to make Multitudes with a pompom and swatch comfortably without worrying about running out of yarn
  • Your choice of the PDF pattern of Multitudes, a print version of Issue 4 (comes with a digital copy, too!), or a digital version of Issue 4 (if you already have the pattern or our Issue 4, you can also purchase the kit without the pattern)

About Multitudes - The Pattern

Multitudes is a classic cabled hat that plays with scale by combining both very large and very small cables on a reverse stockinette background. Nupps, twisted ribbing and crown decreases that are worked into the cable pattern provide this pattern’s special details - and the pom pom the icing on the proverbial cake!

About woollentwine Rustic Merino Worsted - The Yarn

A soft and slightly rustic (in the best possible way!) blend of mountain sheep and German Merino transformed into a worsted-weight yarn perfect for cables and texture. It's entirely sourced and spun in Germany and available in both a few undyed as well as naturally dyed shades. As it's woollen-spun, it's pure bliss to watch it bloom after blocking!

  • How much is shipping? How fast will the kit arrive?

We've put together an overview of the shipping costs of our kits and our delivery times here!

Is there enough yarn to swatch with?

Yes! All our kits include a little bit more yarn than the pattern calls for so that you can comfortably knit up your swatches.

Is it possible to buy an extra skein or two of the yarn included in the kit at the time of placing an order?

Yes and yes! You can purchase any extra skeins at the same time as purchasing your kit. Simply head over to the woollentwine Rustic Merino Worsted listing and add the skeins you'd like to purchase extra to the cart. Shipping will be combined, and we'll always match the dyelots.

What is the level of difficulty of the pattern?

We think this pattern is well suited for an Adept Adventurer - a knitter who's comfortable with standard stitches and increasing / decreasing techniques, and knows how to read a charted pattern.

Where can I get pattern support?

We're here to help you with any questions that you might have on the pattern! You can always send us an email to and we'll help you out.

We also have tons of articles on our blog that focus on helping you get the best results for you in your knitting. We also have our resource page where we have links to videos and tutorials for every technique used in our patterns.

How should I wash the hat?

woollentwine's Rustic Merino Worsted is a non-superwash yarn, so the hat is best washed by hand in lukewarm (not hot!) water, using a little bit of wool wash or gentle soap. Take care not to wring it, but gently squish any excess water out of it, wrap it in a towel, roll it up, and do a little "dance on the towel" to press any remaining water out it. Then, lay it flat to dry.
