We're so delighted that we're able to add Holst Garn to our products, starting with their super star Supersoft! Supersoft is a classic non-superwash yarn that's perfect for colorwork, soothing stockinette, and texture.
It's a blend of 50% Merino and 50% Shetland, making it both soft and durable.
Hold it single for a delicate fabric or double to create a DK-weight yarn.
• Non-superwash
• 50% Merino, 50% Shetland
• Fingering weight: 287 meters per 50 grams / 314 yards per 1.75 ounces
• Recommended needle size held single: 3 - 3.5mm / US 2.5 - 4
• Recommended needle size held double: 4 - 4.5mm / US 6 - 7
• Worsted spun, 2 ply
Holst Garn Supersoft contains a bit of spinning oil and excess dye. The oil and excess dye will disappear at the first wash - and the yarn will bloom and become softer.
• Merino & Shetland are non-mulesed
• Fiber origin: Australia & New Zealand

Holst Garn Supersoft is a wonderful allrounder! It's a fabulous yarn for both beginner and advanced knitters, and all sorts of different projects: It creates a beautiful stockinette fabric, shows off texture wonderfully, and is a star at colorwork.
Holst Garn Supersoft is also really versatile in its yarn weight: You can hold it single to get a light-weight fabric in a fingering weight yarn, or double to achieve a sport to DK-weight gauge.
The only thing to be mindful of is that Holst Garn Supersoft still contains a bit of spinning oil. You can either wash the yarn before knitting with it or you can (which we all prefer to do!) use a bit of dish washing soap when you block it. Dish washing soap is great at removing excess oil, and will help your finished object bloom beautifully.
Growing Ivy is a fabulous design by Ayano Tanaka - a scarf knit in the round, with a wonderfully intuitive geometric colorwork pattern.
Hanna Lisa knit this for her mom, and while it was a labor of love, it was also extremely enjoyable!
Julia Exner's Circle of Life Sweater is the perfect sampler of stitch patterns: Stranded colorwork, corrugated ribbing, lace, even Roosimine are combined in a beautiful yoke sweater.
Play with all the beautiful Holst Garn Supersoft colors to get a wardrobe staple that you'll love to knit and wear.
Holst Garn Supersoft is also great for textured patterns, like Agata Mackiewicz' Acorn Mittens! These fingerless mittens feature a variety of textures, and make for a great gift knit as well.
Choose any of the vibrant Supersoft colors - or a light neutral - to best show off those different textures!
Holst Garn Supersoft is an absolute rockstar when it comes to colorwork. The stitches lock hands with each other beautifully, and the broad color palette means that you can find shades that you love and that have enough contrast, no matter whether you're more into neutrals, bright pops of color or deep jewel tones.
Supersoft is great for a first smaller colorwork project – imagine a hat or a pair of fingerless mittens. It shines in colorwork sweaters as the fabric is light-weight, yet keeps you warm. Cardigans are also a great choice - especially when you steek them as Supersoft holds that cut edge like nobody else!
If colorwork is not your jam, don't worry! Holst Garn Supersoft also knits up beautifully in stockinette, and even shows off texture well.
Haven’t decided what to do with the yarn yet and might need to get a few more balls if stock allows.
