What the Kit Includes

  • 6 (7, 8, 9, 10) skeins of Ulysse - enough yarn to make Yoki in your size, including a little bit extra so that you can swatch comfortably without worrying about running out of yarn
  • A digital version of Issue 5 (if you already have the pattern or our Issue 5, you can also purchase the kit without the pattern)

About Yoki - The Pattern

Yoki is a super fluid and light sweater with a top-down drop-sleeve construction and an oversized, boxy fit - ideal over your favorite pair of high-waisted jeans or with a dress! The cable pattern that covers the front is simple and easy to remember (and it can be done without a cable needle!), but looks striking.

The pattern includes 9 sizes, has been tech-edited and test knit, and contains a schematic.

About De Rerum Natura Ulysse - The Yarn

One of our all-time favorite (and desert island) yarns, De Rerum Natura's Ulysse is an incredibly soft woollen-spun sport-weight yarn that shows texture - think cables and twisted stitches - beautifully. It's a blend of Mérinos d'Arles from Provence, France, and Merinos Petra from the Alentejo Valley in Portugal, eco-consciously produced in France. Like all our yarns, it's non-superwash.

  • How much is shipping? How fast will the kit arrive?

We've put together an overview of the shipping costs of our kits and our delivery times here!

Is there enough yarn to swatch with?

Yes! All our kits include a little bit more yarn than the pattern calls for so that you can comfortably knit up your swatches.

    Are the dyelots the same?

Yes! All the yarn you'll receive will be from the same dyelot.

Is it possible to buy an extra skein or two of the yarn included in the kit at the time of placing an order? can i request the same dyelot?

Yes and yes! You can purchase any extra skeins at the same time as purchasing your kit. Simply head over to the De Rerum Natura Ulysse listing and add the skeins you'd like to purchase extra to the cart. Shipping will be combined, and we'll always match the dyelots.

What is the level of difficulty of the pattern?

We think this pattern is well suited for an Adept Adventurer - a knitter who's perhaps already knit a garment or two, is comfortable with standard stitches and increasing / decreasing techniques, and knows how to read a charted pattern (and possibly their knitting - that always helps!).

How should I wash the sweater?

Ulysse is a non-superwash yarn, so the sweater is best washed by hand in lukewarm (not hot!) water, using a little bit of wool wash or gentle soap. Take care not to wring it, but gently squish any excess water out of it, wrap it in a towel, roll it up, and do a little "dance on the towel" to press any remaining water out it. Then, lay it flat to dry.
