About Cigar - The Pattern

Cigar is a long-sleeved, slightly boxy and short cardigan with dropped shoulders that make the cardigan a timeless and very comfortable basic. It's designed by Marthe Forodden.

Cigar is knitted bottom up, seamless and worked flat. The sleeves are knitted top down with picked up and knit sts around the armhole. The Braid Stitch - very delicate and easy to remember - runs along the hem and button band, around the armholes and cuffs.

About Krea Deluxe's Organic Wool 1 and Deluxe Silk Mohair - The Yarns

Krea Deluxe's Organic Wool 1 is a staple yarn - high twist, organic, and super soft!  It's entirely made in Portugal from GOTS-certified merino, non-superwash and free of any harmful substances or chemicals.

Krea Deluxe's Deluxe Silk Mohair is a wonderfully soft, fluffy and and light yarn produced in Italy with RMS-certified mohair, silk and baby alpaca.

Krea Deluxe was created by sisters Heidi and Pia Johannesen out of the desire for and vision of founding a company that exclusively produces quality yarn and design according to organic and sustainable values.

kit content

Yes! All our kits include a little bit more yarn than the pattern calls for so that you can comfortably knit up your swatches.

Yes! All the yarn you'll receive will be from the same dyelot.

Yes and yes! You can purchase any extra skeins (say, if you want to
lengthen the body or sleeves of a sweater) at the same time as purchasing your
kit. Simply head over to the respective individual yarn listing and add the skeins you'd like to purchase extra to the cart. Shipping will be combined, and we'll always match the dyelots.

You'll need knitting needles of the size(s) that will get you the gauge
stated in the pattern. You'll also need the items listed under "Notions"
in the "Pattern Details" section. Everything else is included!

Pattern support

We're here to help you with any questions that you might have on the pattern! You can always send us an email to and we'll help you out.

We also have tons of articles on our blog that focus on helping you get the best results for you in your knitting. We also have our resource page where we have links to videos and tutorials for every technique used in our patterns.

Caring for your finished object

All our yarns are non-superwash yarns, so any project made from them is best washed by
hand in lukewarm (not hot!) water, using a little bit of wool wash or
gentle soap. Take care not to wring the FO, but gently squish any
excess water out of it, wrap it in a towel, roll it up, and do a little
"dance on the towel" to press any remaining water out of the item.
Then, lay it flat to dry.
