Holly smoke, how are we only a week away from Christmas already!? Do you gift knit or is the mere thought of trying to complete a project right now making you laugh hysterically? I'll be honest, as much as I love the idea of being able to gift all my loved ones a handmade sweater for Christmas, it isn't super realistic (unless you start in January for the next year and are Mrs Weasley with access to magic needles!). Around this time, my mind also turns to something I can cast on for myself once the presents have been exchanged. I love a Christmas knitting project! It's usually a sweater that will probably only get off the needles in the middle of Summer (if I'm lucky!), but it's still my Christmas knit for that year. There's something so comforting about settling down beside the tree to cast on a new project with a piece or two of gingerbread.
With Christmas knitting on my mind, I thought it would be fun to do a round-up of some fantastic indie patterns that would make great last-minute gifts, along with some ideas for some selfish knitting on Christmas Eve!
